You are my person...

Today is National Boyfriend Day!  I know...everyone thinks theirs is the best, but that cannot possibly be ;-) ... We get a chuckle when we refer to each other as "boyfriend" or "girlfriend".  We've been together so long and have been through so much that our souls are intertwined and we have become one.  I love this man so incredibly much it's hard to believe our love continues to grow stronger every day ;-)

Let it go...

This one has always baffled me, but the more we learn about mental illness we find explanations to behavioral issues such as hostility.  It's not normal to constantly be an aggressor or to hold a never ending anger towards someone.  If you've ever encountered such a person you'd know that it takes a huge amount of constraint, but if it goes on over an extended period of time it comes to a point where it becomes pitiful.  Eventually these types of people isolate themselves and lose everything for the "cause" that was self-manifested.  Diagnosing what you're dealing with and healing are the keys to recovery and getting your life back.

Hurry up and wait...

Do you ever feel like you're spinning your wheels?  You're moving a mile a minute, but getting nowhere?  Are you moving at a snails pace?  There are times God has us in a holding pattern.  You start to feel like you're not making any ground.  Then out of nowhere there's a breakthrough.  Things rapidly start to fall into place.  God allows us to coast while He's moving other "mountains".  If we didn't have stagnant periods in life we'd muck it all up ;-)   Trust that He knows what He's doing and keep moving forward!

My Person...

Love never fails.  In good times and bad times.  It is the glue that holds it together.  It's what makes life worthwhile.

Good Morning...

Sun is shining...Windows open...Crisp clean air.  My crow is making his presence known again this morning.  Enjoying homemade apple butter from mom and a cup o' joe.  Soccer starts today...Life is good ;-)

If it ain't broke...don't fix it...

I guess I'm old enough now to have witnessed a complete circle.   Would you believe brass is making a comeback? lol ... Cellphones shrunk over time and with each new release increased in size.  We eliminated glass and made everything plastic.  Now plastic is bad so we're back to glass.  Rabbit ears on our televisions so we were able to get five stations, which increased to 500 with cable and satellite and now people are dumping cable and going back to antennas.  Is anyone ever satisfied? ;-)

Precious Moments

It's hard to believe we're here again approaching Fall.   Kids are settling back into school.  Football games are in full swing.  A new season of Grey's Anatomy starts in two weeks ;-)  It's 68 degrees this morning.  I hear an old crow outside disrupting the peace.  I relish these tranquil moments when I can reflect on my many blessings including this zucchini bread from my Mom ;-)

Labor Day

Today I get to enjoy Summer's last hurrah with my favorite people ;-) The pools are packed in their final day of the season.  Pork steaks on the grill.  It's a sweltering 94 degrees in the Midwest.  This holiday I think of my maternal grandparents who were hardworking dedicated Union laborers. Thanks for the long weekend...and so much more!

Once upon a time ...

People keep saying "You should write a book".  I didn't know it would be two ;-)  Two different people.  Two different nightmares. Worlds collide.  Chapters keep multiplying...for both.  Maybe it should be a trilogy? ... A yours, mine and ours so to speak ;-)

I dreamed a dream ...

Few people in life “live the dream”.  A prosperous career, owning a home, a long happy marriage, a house full of kids and even more grandchildren, retirement and a dog 😉.  Many achieve some of these.  Some achieve none and few achieve it all.  Why is it that we all can’t "have it all”?  Is it due to lack of effort or bad choices or do we fall victim to our circumstances?

“Circumstances” … How devastating to have an unfavorable medical diagnosis or suffer from a debilitating injury.  Both can really affect our ability to be “happy” along life’s journey, but what if you fell victim to another persons scorn, insecurities or neurosis?  Can you still accomplish “the dream” in situations you did not create?  Remember the story of  David and Goliath?  One thing you can count on is that nothing stays the same.  Bad situations change.  Through those “circumstances” remain faithful to your integrity, keep your blinders on and continue moving forward!
